        Year 1963: A proposal by Dr. M.K.Chaudhuri to set up an institute under the name of”Institute for Planning and Administration of National Economy” wasforwarded to Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Prime Minister and Chairman,Planning Commission, Government of India.
